The topic is skincare, and I will explain, exactly what these are and what to use them to.
Skincare can be a jungle to find your way around in.
In this series we are looking closely at the different types of skincare.
Today we will focus on Lip Scrubs.
As always you can also watch this on my YouTube Channel 🙂
WHAT IS A LIP SCRUB AND WHAT DOES IT DO?
A lip scrub is a skincare product designed to exfoliate your lips.
Lip scrubs are often made to be more gentle than normal body scrubs, since the lips are a very delicate area.
The exfoliating process makes sure to remove dead skin cells so new ones can surface, and helps the place exfoliated absorb moisture easier.
WHAT TYPES EXISTS?
A lip scrub can come in a few forms, but are often found in tins, tubes or twist up lip balm containers.
Though lip scrubs mostly do the same, some try to do a little extra.
Flavor, scent and hydration are often some of the things coming up when searching, but the typical lip scrub does not contain more than that.
DO I NEED IT & WHEN SHOULD I USE IT?
Lip scrubs are not advised to be used alone, and in most cases, it is not even necessary- or can be more damaging than doing good.
The skin on the lips is very thin and fragile, and does actually not accumulate dead skin cells like the rest of our body does. Therefore, scrubbing it too much or too hard may just leave them bleeding, hurting or even more dry.
If the reason you use a scrub is because your lips are already damaged, steer away and use a great lip balm or moisturizing lip product. That way your lips will repair both quicker and easier.
If you want to use a lip scrub- it can be a luxurious extra step in your skincare routine- you can almost choose yourself when to do it. Just be sure you moisturize afterwards, and are not too harsh to your skin with it.
If there is some type of skincare you would like explained, tell me in the comments and we will get to it.
I hope you all have a happy life, one day at a time!
