Today our focus is all on Mascara.

WHAT IS A MASCARA AND WHAT DOES IT DO?

Mascara is a beauty product, made to enhance your eyelashes, making them longer, fuller, darker or more defined.

WHAT TYPES EXIST?

Mascara can have lots of different benefits. They come in many colours, and with many styles of wands. We will look at it all here.

Benefits:

• Waterproof
• Lengthening
• Volumizing
• Curling
• Clump-free
• Lash defining
• Tubing – enveloping each hair
• Natural – concerning ingredients
• Bottom lash
• Fiber
• Sensitive
• Long lasting
• Dramatic
• Separating
• Nourishing

Many of these mix, so that you do not only get one benefit, but instead many.

Colours:

• Black
• Grey
• Brown
• Clear
• Blue
• Purple
• Green
• Red
• Pink
• Yellow
• Orange
• Silver
• Gold

These are not the only colours, but these are the primary ones. There are lots of hues coming from the mentioned colours.

Wands:

• Traditional
  Lengthens, gives volume and makes lashes look fuller
  
  
• Comb
  This wand reaches even the smallest lashes, separating them while giving as little clumping as possible.
  
  
• Pointed
  Lengthens, the pointy end can help obtain even more length when only using that part
  
  
• Triangle
  Makes your eyes look elongated, achieving more of a cat-eye effect
  
  
• Curved
  Helps curl the lashes more
  
  
• Ball
  Defines while making you choose yourself where you want the most definition. It makes hard to reach places easier to reach
  
  
• Inverted cone
  Makes your eyes look wider while giving volume and length
  
  
• Cone
  Because of the thinner ends, you are sure to get every lash covered
  
  
• Rectangle
  Gives both volume and length while getting every lash covered
  
  
• Skinny
  Defines lashing while looking natural
  
  
• Bubble
  Lifts and curls
  
  
• Jumbo
  Gives lots of volume
  
  
• Miniature
  Especially good for bottom lashes as they reach every lash precisely without smudging
  
  
• S shape
  Gives a dramatic look while both curling and lengthening
  
  
• Hourglass
  Elongated lashes while curling them, giving most volume and definition at the edges so the lashes makes your eyes seem more opened
  
  
• Spiral
  Gives both volume and curl without clumping
  
  
• Corkscrew
  Lifts lashes as it hits the lashes on three different points. The best coverage will come if it is moved both from side to side and front to back
  
  
• Rubber bristles
  Lengthening and curling without being too much. 
  
  
• Plastic bristles
  One of the quickest ways to put on mascara as it is supposed to put on a lot of mascara quickly. It gives definition without clumping

es I know there are a lot but that is just how the beauty industry rolls.

DO I NEED IT & WHEN SHOULD I USE IT?

As with all makeup nobody needs it, though it can definitely look good on a lot of people.

Mascara does not have to be bright and bold; it can be natural. And that bit of definition can really frame the face, and brighten it up.

It is used when applying your makeup, after eyeshadow, but can also stand alone without anything else.
