These lipsticks have been sitting in my apartment for way to long.

I was super excited about them and bought them in the thought that they had to be great. I have watched Safiya for years, and to be honest, have seen every single of her videos. She had such a high standard for what her lipstick should be able to tolerate (and she made “butthole coverage” famous- essentially stressing the importance of having a lipstick that actually stayed on, even on the “wetter” part of the lips). So of course, I had to have these.

The thought that these are inspired by the franken-lipsticks she has made in bad makeup science experiments I think is super cool and I have been looking forward to it.

I just tried them on, and I have so many feelings about them.

Their words:

We got two descriptions here: one for the creme, one for the matte lipstick.

This full-coverage lipstick is packed full of the finest pigments to give you long-wearing, true colour in shades made for every skin tone. This super pigmented formula glides on like butter from our exclusive lux blend of acai, jojoba and pomegranate seed butters that hydrate and keep your lips looking fresh af. Natural antioxidants protect your lips from environmental stressors and premature aging.

This full-coverage matte lipstick is packed full of the finest pigments to give you long-wearing, true colour in all the shades. The matte finish is comfortable and non-drying with intense pigmentation in one swipe. Enriched with pomegranate, goji fruit and grape seed extracts to protect your lips from environmental stressors and premature aging.

My thoughts: Dang I have been looking forward to this!!

Applying: This is the easiest lipstick I have ever applied. It glided straight on without smudging all over, and I fortunately did not have to clean anything up afterwards (which I am used to because I am not a professional putting on lipstick) it was also super pigmented in first swipe.

Feel: Holy guacamole. It. Is. So. Soft. It was super soft when applying and even when dried down does not feel uncomfortable at all. It did not go off when drinking – as in: AT ALL. Not even a single smear of lipstick on my cup or glass, and still looks perfect after I ate (and this is the creme lipstick I talk about). I am so impressed on how well it stays on. I only had one of them smudge a little bit right after I applied it, but there was no trouble after it had dried down.

Packaging: I truly love the packaging. The bats are so cute and design really creative. I love how the theme goes all the way through the packing, with a bat on the front, bats on the lipstick tube and even on the lipstick itself. I like how the lipstick colours and names are clearly labelled on the back of the packaging but also at the bottom of the lipstick itself. The names are also so funny. The only thing that I am not that much of a fan of, is the colour inside of the outer packaging – though I guess it is a display of the “bad makeup science” that inspired these – so I understand it, but I would have loved it to just be black.

Scent: They do somehow smell a bit like playdough.

Labels: cruelty free and recyclable packaging.

Ingredients: I could honestly not find the ingredients which I am quite disappointed about. We do know a bit of the ingredients though- as they tell us there is acai, jojoba, and pomegranate seed butters in. while there in the matte version is pomegranate, goji fruit, and grape seed extracts.

Acai – antioxidant.

Jojoba – enhances the skin’s restorative properties. Soothing and great for dry skin.

Pomegranate – antioxidant.

Grape seed – emollient, non-fragrant, antioxidant.

Goji fruit: Antioxidant. Helps mitigate signs of environmental damage.

Claims: I have to agree with most if not all claims here. The lipstick has great pigment and glides on like butter. My lips did not feel dry at all and it honestly lasted until I took it off. There was only a bit of smudging with one of the colours, but that was only right after I applied it; which means to me it doesn’t count.

Price: 280 DKK – 38 EURO – 46 USD

Will I use it again: Yes, yes, and a thousand times yes. This has truly become my favourite lipstick and the only thing I do not like about it, is that it took me this long to try it. I am only sad they do not sell it at the moment, but I truly think and hope they will sell it again at some point!

So that is all for this review. I would love to hear if you have ever tried these before, and what you think about them?

I hope you all have a happy life, one day at a time
