You do not touch Christmas. That’s how simple it is. If there is one time at the year, where we really have to keep up tradition, it is at Christmas time. We all have a special way of doing things – from finding the real tree together, bake grandmas cookies from the secret recipe we inherited or the cringy, romantic Christmas movies we of course have to watch ( we all do it #sorrynotsorry)

But 2020 hasn’t really been the year most of us hoped to see. And all what we connect with tradition has been a challenge, and made a lot of us think and behave in a new or at least different way. Corona fucks (yes we said it) with our Christmas and because we are “forced” to do things different, maybe it is now more necessary than ever to focus on the small positive things that gives us light in the dark.

So to sprinkle a bit of happiness on the, not so traditional, Christmastime, we filled your box with the best products that leaves your mind, body and soul in a bit of a better mood.
Self-pampering is not cancelled. And staying home does not have to be boring. Actually, we think some of the best moments are those where you really take time for yourself. So this is our little kit to help with exactly that.

To wrap it up: even though it has been weird what happens around us, we wish everyone a fantastic Christmas and a hopeful new year.

That is how Goodiebox describes the “Wrap it up” Goodiebox from December 2020, and I can only agree, that it has been quite a year.

The box contains five products, two of them full size.

This box costs 169 DKK – 23 EURO – 28 USD (and the cost of the products I got this time is 545 DKK – 73,5 EURO – 90 USD)

Jorgobé – Niacinamide Serum

Their words:

Rebuild your skin with Jorgobés Niacinamide Serum. A concentrated and nourishing serum, made to rebuild the skins natural balance. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) smooths the skin tone, the skins structure and minimizes pigment spots and redness. The serum is 100% vegan and produced in Denmark. We suggest using the product morning and evening on clean skin.

My thoughts: They really brought out the heavy artillery! Niacinamide I see, I am looking forward to trying this wonder product.

Applying: You apply very easily and without trouble, though I did squeeze out a bit too much product at first.

Feel: My skin stinged a bit when first applying it, though that feeling quickly vanished. It felt very sticky for a quite a while afterwards- to be honest, last I used it- it took over three hours before I gave up and washed it off – that sticky feeling was just too uncomfortable.

Packaging: Very simple and informative packaging.

Scent: Does not smell like anything.

Labels: 100% vegan. Though they do not label it, I did not find any fragrance in this product, so it is also fragrance free.

Ingredients:
Niacinamide: Also called vitamin B3 or nicotinic acid. Improves appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines, dullness and uneven skin tone. Skin restoring and skin soothing. Antioxidant.
Glycerin: Replenish & restoring. Hydrating.
Allantoin: Effective at soothing skin. Skin conditioning.
Sodium Hyaluronate: Replenish. Salt form of hyaluronic acid.

Claims: I haven’t used this enough time to see a real visible effect, but I have noticed that I do not get insanely red when smearing this on my face (usually the pressure of touching my face makes my face reddish). I guess this count as combatting redness.

Price: 178 DKK – 24 EURO – 29,5 USD

Will I use it again: Nope, it might be good and wonderful (I won’t find out because I won’t use it for that long), but the fact that I have to wait hours and it still isn’t dried down ruins it for me.

Mélusine Paris – 3in1 Mascara with Hemp and Enriched with Vitamin E

Their words:

This super cool 3-in-1 mascara combines lash care and mascara in one product. It strengthens and rebuilds your lashes while stimulating them. It is enriched with Ricinus oil, hemp oil, omega-6-fatty acids and vitamin E, while being paraben and sulphate free. The mascara has a silicone brush, so it is easy to apply. Brush it on your lashes and let it dry for a minute.

My thoughts: It fits so nicely that we got a mascara in this box, since we got a lash primer in the crush Goodiebox this month.

Applying: Super easy to apply, but very natural so takes a while to build up.

Feel: Does not feel heavy at all.

Packaging: The design makes me quite intrigued and I do find it creative and cute – though I would have liked if not only the tube (?) but also the handle had a design.

Scent: Uhh smells like mascara?

Labels: Paraben free, sulphate free.

Ingredients:
Glycerin: Replenish & restoring. Hydrating.
Hydrogenated Olive Oil: Rich source of antioxidants.
Oryza Sativa Cera: Natural, non-fragrent wax from Rice Bran. Skin softening and great for dry skin.

Claims: I haven’t seen any rebuilding of my lashes yet, but neither have I seen my lashes fall off, or seem weak. It is easy to apply and well; it is a mascara.

Price: 156 DKK – 21 EURO – 26 USD.

Will I use it again: I will use it up, but not buy a new one. Though it is very good, natural and gentle, it does not knock my favourite mascara out of the park.

De_CURE – N˚ GLOW AHA + BHA Glow Cleanser

Their words:

De_Cures vegan and perfume free Glow Cleanser helps remove makeup, impurities and pollution from the surroundings on the face and leaves the skin as the perfect canvas to absorb active ingredients and care products.  The product exfoliates carefully with AHA-fruit acid, Mandelic Acid and Salicylic Acid. It removes impurities from the pores and stimulates cell renewal without damaging the skins barrier and leaves the skin with a nice glow, full of moisture and well nourished.

Okay now we got to the : how do I use it? Part. Massage the gel on dry skin with dry hands to dissolve makeup, pollution and impurities. End with the eye area. Put water in your face and massage again until it starts foaming. Rinse after with lukewarm water. There you go!

My thoughts: This description is aeons long dang!

Applying: Easy to apply and does it’s job without trouble.

Feel: Felt very slippery on my skin even after having washed it off. No dry feelings.

Packaging: Once again a very black/white approach, the packaging is simple and boring. This one does not seem as expensive than the serum.

Scent: No particular scent, mostly smells like creme. Which makes sense since it is perfume free.

Labels: Vegan and Perfume Free.

Ingredients:
↑ Glycerin:
Replenish & restoring. Hydrating.
Salicylic Acid: Also called Beta Hydroxy acid (BHA). Primarily acts as an exfoliant, but overall addresses many of the causes of acne. Can reduce breakouts, this includes blackheads and whiteheads because it can penetrate into the pore. It has soothing abilities, can help calm aggravated skin, minimize the appearance of uneven skin tone and can hydrate so immensely it may result in smoother skin.
Sodium Hyaluronate: Replenish. Salt form of hyaluronic acid.
Hippophae Rhamnoides: Sea buckthorn. Great antioxidant. Good source of various vitamins (C, B and E) Soothing.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract: Antioxidants and skin soothing.
Curcuma Longa Root: Tumeric. Great antioxidant.
Glycolic Acid: Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that can act water binding. Can act as an exfoliant when formulated properly. One of the most effective forms of AHA.

Claims: This cleanser did remove all visible pollutants from my face (read: makeup, dirt, sunscreens etc.). I did not see any visible exfoliating, but since my skin did feel smoother and softer afterwards; I would guess that is thanks to the exfoliation. I did see a slight “glow” to my face after use.

Price: 410 DKK – 55 EURO – 68 USD

Will I use it again: I will use it up but I won’t buy it again, I enjoy foam cleansers more than gel types.

Elizabeth Arden – White Tea Eau De Toilette

Their words:

Time for a new scent? With a million perfumes to choose from, it can be exhausting to find the right one. Luckily for you, maybe you just found your new signature scent here. You either get Mandarin Blossom, White Tea or Vanilla Orchid Tea in your box. The scents are carefully composed and has each their unique scent universe that pamper the senses.

My thoughts: Uh oh, I have gotten a few scents from Goodiebox over the years, and it has been more miss than hit. Lets see how this goes.

Applying: Well it is a normal perfume spray bottle so easy to use.

Feel: Feels fresh but almost goes straight to my head because it can be a bit strong.

Packaging: This packaging is super cute, I really like it a lot. It is simple and cute.

Scent: Hmmmmmmmm. The scent is flowery with a mix of ocean and trees, but just on the edge of being too much for my taste.

Labels: I can find none.

Ingredients: Does it surprise you if I tell you that there is Fragrance in this?

Claims: The only claim here is that I might have a new favourite scent and I can tell you; no. I don’t.

Price: 320 DKK – 43 EURO – 53 USD

Will I use it again: Unfortunately I do not think so, but I will see if I know someone who would like it, because it is definitely not a bad scent at all.

Clinique – Moisture Surge Intense 72-hour Lipid Replenishing Hydrator

Their words:

When we hit the extra cold days, where your hair is one big ball of electricity and it almost feels like your fingers are falling of, then it is time to pamper the skin with some extra hydration. Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense 72-hour Lipid Replenishing Hydrator is your saviour! The rich creme/gel consistency starts a non-stop moisture with aloe vera and caffeine. It helps retain the moisture and keeps the skin hydrated for 72 hours with the help of a trio of lipids. Your skin is left silky smooth and with a nice glow.

Use the creme morning and evening on clean skin. You can use it alone or under makeup, on especially dry places or wear it as a mask for five minutes.

My thoughts: Another very long description. And why are we getting two of this type of product? I cant use both of these after each other or is that what I am supposed to do? I mean they tell us that both of them should go on a clean face, so I don’t think they are supposed to be layered.

Applying: Very easy to apply, and you don’t need much product. It dries in fairly quickly.

Feel: It felt incredibly moisturizing and thick on the skin. Not in an unpleasant way at all, but like I just gave it hydration for years. The same moisturized feeling was still there the day after.
For me, it works best for the extra dry places and extra dry times just because it has such a thick consistency.
I think it might be a bad idea to use this if you have very oily skin though.

Packaging: I truly adore this packaging! I almost like the green look of the packaging the most, but the small pink container is very simple and nice too.

Scent: No real scent, but reminds me of a very thick cream scent.

Labels: Allergy tested. 100% Fragrance free.

Ingredients:
↑ Glycerin:
Replenish & restoring. Hydrating.
↑ Tocopheryl Acetate: A form of vitamin E. Antioxidant.
↑ Sodium Hyaluronate:
Replenish. Salt form of hyaluronic acid.
↑ Centella Asiatica:
Antioxidant, soothing & can improve the skin’s moisture content.
↑ Cholesterol: Emollient, water binder and stabilizer. Skin replenishing.
↑ Linoleic Acid: Found in Corn, safflower and sunflower oils. Skin soothing, Antioxidant, emollient, and skin restoring.
↑ Sorbitol:
Type of sugar. Skin calming, thickening and slip agent. Hydrating.
↑ Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12:
Also known as either; pal-KTTKS or Palmitoyl Oligopeptide. Skin restoring.
↑ Squalene:
Oil from either shark liver or plants. Natural component of skin. Is a good emollient and has great antioxidant properties. It is also skin replenishing.

Claims: This is definitely a very rich cream that hydrates immensely. I do not know if it hydrates for 72 hours (because I usually moisturize more often than once every third day), but it keeps my face feeling hydrated longer than any other cream I have tried. Without feeling sticky that is.

I can also agree that my skin is left both softer and with a bit of a glow.

Price: 275 DKK – 37 EURO – 45,5 USD

Will I use it again: I will definitely use it up, and I am actually thinking about buying a new one for next winter so I am ready for the cold weather.

That is all for this Goodiebox review.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and new year, and would love to hear in the comments if you ever tried any of these and what you think!

I hope you all have a happy life, one day at a time!
