Homemade drinks – Gin Hass

Today will be another drink, and this one in particular I had a hard time trying out.

As I have said before, I am really not that much into the pure alcohol taste, so my boyfriend and I have had a bottle of gin for I don’t know how many years, without ever getting to use it.
That is until we sat one summer evening together with my mother and we casually said we had never used it, and she told us: haven’t you just made a Gin Hass – it was clear to see that no. We had not.

Somehow I had told myself that the only drink you can make with gin, is a gin & tonic, and boy am I embarrassed to say that out loud right now.

So we ventured into the unknown, with gin in hand, and found a good syrup and some soda; and then we went crazy:

Homemade Kalimotxo (Vangria)

I really hope you are not sick of me talking about drinks by now because this is not the first nor the last.

This drink is uhm. Kind of quirky. It is a Spanish drink that it consists of mainly two ingredients: red wine and cola.

Yup. You did read that right. Red wine and cola is not really my standard mix of drinks, but the weirdest things are mixed when speaking about drinks, and we will try it nonetheless.

And for all of us who do not know how to pronounce Kalimotxo, it goes something like: Calimotcho.

Avocado toast got really popular years ago, and I still enjoy it once in a while now, even though it is not a “craze” anymore.

This drink is one I have been eyeing for quite some time. If we have to use the universal name for a Clara Con Lemon, it would be a Lemon beer.

It is a Spanish alcoholic drink that I have been wondering about for SO long. The mix of beer and lemonade is just weird to me, but nonetheless I am really excited to try it out.

Homemade Irish Coffee

Another day, another day dedicated to alcohol.

Like we have done before, we will try out a “new” alcoholic drink to broaden our horizons and find out what we need to do to make alcohol actually taste good.

As I have mentioned before, I am not really an alcohol drinker, and it has to taste GOOD for me to want to both put energy into making it but also to drink it.

Coffee is a thing that I have been experimenting with recently; with (whipped)cream, syrups, and peppermint. But alcohol; not so often.

Something I think we have not really talked about before is alcohol.

I don’t really drink that much alcohol – less than one drink a week, and more likely only once a month. And that is a: oh I will just take one glass of wine/beer/whatever situation.
