We all know those days where your mood is just… not helpful. Feeling cranky, mad or sad often leads to overeating, or stress eating- especially for me. I tend to reach for the easiest, most sugar filled, or fa(s)t food I can get.
(like the cake in the picture- which I made myself by the way)
Today we will look a little at what foods you can eat/or drink, to improve your mood in a healthier way!
- Green tea:
Green tea has a calming effect on the brain and improves mental focus. - Dark chocolate:
Dark chocolate can reduce the level of your stress hormones. - Raw peppers:
Both red & green pepper, chili and bell peppers are high in vitamin C which reduces stress hormones - Water:
One of the first signs of your body being dehydrates is, that your mood and energy levels decreases, that’s why it’s important to keep hydrated at all times - Sunflower seeds:
Sunflower seeds are rich in both vitamin E, selenium and magnesium, which all contribute to mood improvement - Oatmeal:
Oats increase the production of serotonin which is calming - Blueberries:
These have a very high level of antioxidants and contains vitamin C which helps with repairing cells when we are stressed - Spinach:
Is told to boost and improve your concentration - Salmon:
Salmon has been told, to help decrease the feeling of anxiety
